Vintage 1960\'s - 70\'s by Canadian/Finnish sculptor/artist Eija Seras, hand sculpted terracotta. Eija Seras made a range of Inuit figures, hand sculpted from terracotta, while living at the U.S. Air Force base in Goose Bay, Labrador, in the mid 1960\'s. In the 1970s she moved to Windsor, Ontario.

Each figure in this sculpture is molded in clay, hand carved, fired, and painted. The bottom is signed\"Eija Seras Canada\" (last picture).

The tallest figure is 2 3/4\" high and the base is 2 1/2\" by 1 1/4\".Her works were featured in Canadian and international galleries. An Eija Seras chess set, in which every piecerepresented a different Inuit activity, was exhibited during an official Canada Week exhibition in Tokyo, Japan, in 1969.The artist was also awarded the Canadian Design of Merit citation in 1974 by the National Design Council of Canada for her Inuit figures.
