The piece depicts a family of four lounging seals secured on a slab of soap stone. They are held on by wooden pegs and can be rotated and removed for repositioning.
One of the adult seals has an old repair to reattach its tail and one of the juvenile seals has a small chip at the corner of its tail. (see photos)
