This is a charming Cairene brassplate from Egypt, decorated in copper and (untested) silver inlay against a hatched or ring-punched background with finely executed curvilinear and calligraphic motifs.Further simple inlay to rim. Very slight loss of copper inlay to centre. (see photo 2) Loop to reverse for suspension. 27.5cm. diameter. Probably earlier 20th century.
