Original Victorian embossed die cut scraps. Circa 1880s.
In fair condition with surface and edge damage - see picture.
Good quality - thick paper. Taken from an album. See notes below.
Repairs, staining, thinning and glue and paper residue on the backs.
Measure approximately 6.75\" (17cm) high.

About these cards and scraps.
They date from the 1880s and I received them as a lot of about 30 large loose beautiful album pages, exquisitely laid out with fabulous cards and scraps but...... badly water damaged. Moisture is a real enemy of ephemera. It is pernicious - causing the paper layers of the cards to separate and permanent discoloration. So began the long process of first cleaning and then drying the sheets in acid-free tissue paper, then soaking the cards and scraps off in distilled water, cleaning them, drying them and pressing them in cartridge paper. Finally restoration - repairing the backs where necessary with acid-free archival tape. I saved what I could. There were many heartbreaking casualties but so many fantastic cards (including some that I have never seen before) that it was worth the effort. The best of them are presented here in my sales...... well almost all...... I did keep a style=\"text-align: justify\">Full details ofshipping costsaregiven inthe Postage and Payments section.
