JAPANESE ANTIQUE 19TH CENT LATE EDO / EARLY MEIJI PERIOD MUSEUM QUALITY SIGNED CARVED OX BONEWITH SHIBAYAMA INLAID NETSUKE, This amazing netsuke is absolutely fantastic and carved to the very highest standard by no doubt a master craftsman, the subject is wonderful and very livelyit shows a Japanese lady with long flowing hair down to her ankles and wearingthe most beautiful gown which has lots of different shibayama inlays which include mother of pearl and many otherdifferent types of shibayama inlays of which Iamunable to identify, the lady is holding a small wooden box to her ear which also has shibayama inlays, it looks like the box contains some sought of burnt ambers or scent, the two oni\'s are running around the lady and look very excited, the details on this amazing netsuke speak for itself, Please look at the photos very closely, this great piece has a signature of which I have not had translated but must be of a master craftsman, All in all this antique netsuke is top quality made in the 19th cent late edo or early meiji period and carved from the finest quality antique ox bone, this piece is stunning and would look amazing as a show piece or added to any real fine antique netsuke collection. size 5cm high, condition very good.
