These wonderful vintage sterling silver figural Pins are made for the purpose of being used as fine dining place card holders. One may recall seeing other similar accessories such as spoons, oyster forks, lobster or toothpicks, or other items. They are so lovely done in Japanese figures (as shown left to right) of a Buddha, a Water Bucket, a Japanese Archway, a Ceremonial Urn, a Japanese Fan, a Lady in a Kimono, a Triple Tower or Temple, and a Japanese Old Folk House. They date to the early to mid 20th century and were purchased from Japan. They are Japanese 950 sterling silver and are marked“Sterling” in the 5” x 3 1/2” x 1” black storage box. They are in excellent condition with no or minimal scratches and the pin parts are very tight. We thought about selling them individually as hat pins or lapel pins, however, we feel the set is so special that they should remain as a set. Each Fine Dining Place Card Holder is approximately 3” in length.
