DescriptionLarge and fine Early 19th century oil painting on canvas of a horse in a stable by John Frederick Herring Senior 1795 - 1865. An excellent and typical example of the artists work signed lower left - see photo. Signature original to painting and does not show under uv light. Christies stencil verso. Painting in good clean condition, relined in the 19th Century and comes on an excellent cross stretcher. Further label verso possible Birmingham Gallery. Painting measures 21\" x 17\" and 30\" x 26\" in its original gilt frame with name plaque. Paintings by Herring Senior have fetched in excess of £1/2 million ! Ready to hang. .
