JUDAICA Rare Polish 1892 Jewish Birth & Rare 1917 Israelite Marriage Certificates Lot!!!
The Birth Certificate was recorded in 1905 but the actual birth took place in 1892.
size: 9 3/4\" X 15 1/2\"......
The Marriage Certificate was recorded in 1917 and handwritten.
size:13 3/4\" X 16\"......
Both documents have tax stamps.......
Because of the size of each, multiple scans were needed half of top, half of bottom.
Jewish marriage was in the hands of the official Rabbinical establishment, who issued traditional \"Ketubos\" (K\'tubot). Certification of marriage could also be obtained from the same authorities.
BIRTH CERTIFICATES, before World War I:
BIRTH CERTIFICATES, as such, were not issued, BUT before World War I, certification of birth could be obtained for various purposes from the District (Uezd) Rabbinical Authorities.
