Overview

Founded in 1833, Jaeger Le Coultre have long been acknowledged as one of the premier watchmakers in terms of their extremely high quality movements, their effortlessly elegant design and innovation. They made the iconic Reverso in the 1930\'s and followed this up with the wrist alarm Powermatic. This solid 9ct yellow gold, tear drop lug Jaeger sums up everything Jaeger stands for and dates to 1949. The gleaming case is in excellent condition with only the most minor signs of wear. The original Jaeger signed ivory cream dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standards and deliciously elegant. The raised gold Arabic numbers with the original gold hands (blued steel second hand) create a love late art-deco look. The very high grade Jaeger sign manual wind movement is again in excellent condition and has just been fully serviced by my professional watchmaker.To complete this beautiful watch I have added a new, high quality Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches dark brown crocodile skin strap with gold plated buckle.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of thiscondition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintagewatches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I willinclude a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enoughfor you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are notentirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within 14 days in the same condition with a trackable courier.

The Case

The crisp, provenance polished solid 9ct gold case is in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear - the tear drop lugs are just delicious and frame the magnificent dial perfectly.The case measures 32 mm\'s wide, excluding the winding crown and 40 mm\'s, including the lugs. The inside is signed \'Dennison Made in England\' - Dennison were an English case make who worked with all the major brands including Rolex, Omega and Breitling. It has the case number \'241820\' and has the appropriate hallmarks for solid 9ct gold (Birmingham hallmark of \'Z\' dates it to 1949)

The Movement

Jaeger movements are recognised as one of the highest quality in watch making and were used by Patek Phillipe. This jewelled manual movement has just been fully serviced by my professional watchmaker and is running beautifully. It is signed \'Jaeger Le Coultre\' and \'Swiss\'.

The Dial

The original Jaeger signed ivory/creamdial is deliciously elegant. The raised gilt (yellow gold) Arabic hour numbers and gold hands provide the softest contrast to the dial and blend perfectly with the gleaming case.It is signed \'Jaeger Le Coultre\' and \'Swiss\'.The lens has been replaced with a new acrylic one.

The Strap

As mentioned, this watch sits on a high quality dark brown Hirsch and Sonning Vintage Watches crocodile skin strap with a gold plated buckle.
