~*~by Janie Comito 2017Last year Janie acquired a lovely 19th century hand painted porcelain button ~ she\'s kept it for May of this year with the idea of featuring it on a pin cushion in combination with one of her bluebirds. Here is the vision she has created.The pin cushion is 3 1/4\" across and features the lovely antique button hand painted with roses and embellished with hand embroidered forget me not flowers; it was designed to fit inside the little basket and is intended accompany it, however it can be removed if desired. the basket plus bird is 5 1/2\" tall. The bluebird is created from long pile velvet plush with heavy felt wing feathers and tail and beak. The legs are wire sculpted, wrapped and sealed. He perches permanently on the basket handle.Your item will arrive in a gift box with an ACEO card date and signed by Janie and bearing an original pen and ink portrait of the piece, .
This creation is not a toy and is intended for the adult collector,take extreme care with items that include pins around babies and small children. Janie\'s creations, are unique and original pieces, handmade by the artist herself; they are never mass produced. Janie is proud that each one is made in Washington State ~ by an American artist.

I’m Janie Comito, designer, collector, artisan and appreciator of lovely and fanciful objects. I have been known internationally for 38 years for my miniature teddy bears and other animal and bird designs as well as Raggedy dolls. Occasionally I will be offering some vintage pieces from my collection. Most of my offerings are one offs and all my creations are meticulously designed and hand sewn by me; they are made as beautifully as I can contrive to create them.
