JAPANESE ANTIQUE 19TH CENT MEIJI PERIOD 1868 - 1912, FINE QUALITY SIGNED OKIMONO, This sale is for an absolutely stunning Japanese Antique Okimono, The subject of this wonderful 19th century okimono, Shows a Japanese man standing with one foot upon a small rock, while holding a beautiful Bird probably a bird of prey for hunting falcon, eagle, hawk ? or Possibly a tamed Parrot, the bird has some sought of string or thin rope attached to its feet, The man has a long naturel stick in the other hand maybe for beating out game birds if he has a bird of prey, This absolute stunning Okimono was carved from 19th cent antique cow bone during the Japanese Meiji Period 1868 - 1912, the carved Details to this stunning Piece are amazing and show such realism in both features and movement, the most wonderful thing about this stunning antique 19th cent carving is the way it has been carved with such smoothness all over, making it so beautiful to look and just wonderful to hold and feel with absolute pure delicate finish and superbly smoothness, The artist carver has signed this piece on the base with his signature, Size 20cm High, Condition Very Good with just one fine crack of 2cm running down on the right side of the mans head just past his ear, this can been seen in the last two photos,All in all This fantastic antique Okimono has been carved to a very high standard and would look amazing Displayed as a showpiecein any home.
