Hand crafted using pure silver (100%). Signed 1000. The most rare of Meiji period Japanese purity marks.

Tapering ovoid.

Adorned with tightly carved royal chrysanthemum and peony sprays both body and cover.

Cover retains the original raised chrysanthemum framed in twin leaf.

Original hand carved handle, mounted on the side. The tea kettle has never been monogrammed.

Signed 1000 (100% pure silver) and Japanese characters for the maker Mitsiuki.

This rare Mitsiuki tea kettle is 7 inches and 17 standard ounces.

In very fine condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The brilliant carved floral sprays retain their original detail. Retains the original hand carved ovvory side mounted handle. Mild wear.
