Lyn is 14 inches tall, with porcelain head, arms, legs, and a poseable cloth body. She wears a pink batiste blouse and pantalets under a green flowered fine whale corduroy dress with pink piping. Her eyes are brown “masterpiece” and her hair is black human. Her shoes are black leather one-strap flats. She holds a jointed panda. Lyn is an artist original and was completely created by the artist, even the panda she is holding. Lyn is #4 of 15.
The artist is Jennifer Schmidt. She has established a successful career as a long term freelance artist for such companies as The Franklin Mint, Lenox, The Hamilton collection and Fisher-price. She produces her own home-based limited edition artist dolls. (Lyn is one of these.) Highly expressive and finely detailed Jennifer’s dolls exude life. Every doll is sculpted fresh, with a different emotion in mind. Every detail plays a role in the composition as a whole. The artist’s sculpting communicates the mood, character, and race of each little “person”. Her layered painting accentuates these aspects and works along with the natural fabrics, textures, colors, and designs to complete the work of art. Careful attention is paid to the overall scale of the piece.
