Bornin a coal mining town in the hills and valleys of Western Pennsylvania, Johnexperienced a hardness and a softness throughout his growing years. The hardnesscoming from the area in which he was raised, a region of black coal and steelthat digs it, and the softness of the tender-loving care of his upbringing. Itwas there that he first began to learn from nature, hunting, and hiking in thewoods with his brothers and cousins.

Johngraduated from a local university, served in Vietnam, and returned and set up afoundry on his farm. From his website he states “his animals portray thebalance of nature and a contrast with man’s frequent ability to achieve similarharmony.\"

Hereis one of John’s bird creations. The rooster is made inbronze, as all of bells. The rooster stands 7” in height and about 3.5” across. The base has detailed feathers and well as the head of the rooster. This bell has abeautiful resonant ring. All of his bells have special clappers…this one the claw holding an egg. This bell weighs about 3.5 pounds...an exquisite work of bronze art with detail matched by few. The bell is signed M 03 and signed and numbered by John.
