Description

This stylish KARUNG skin bag in black features a gem stone clasp. Black onyx, green jade and brown carnelian cabochon gems on the clasp upgrades this skin bag to a luxurious evening bag.

The pleating and gathering of the karung skin, as in this bag, is a major Leiber innovation. Normally, skin bags have the skins presented as flat and straight materials. A soft, round and mellowed feeling is achieved in this bag by gently hand-pleating the skins. Other designers will machine-pleat skins making them bunch and hard. The shirring was done by hand in this Leiber bag, resulting in soft leather and in concert with the shape.

The interior reveals matching silk fabric lining and one zippered pocket.
