APPEALING POINTS:

lAuthenticity attested by top Japanese sword authority, Dr. Sato Kanzan,in Sheath Writing Attestation!

lSmithed by a master swordsmith, Sukekane, who represented Bizen Province in late Edo Period!

lThe Mei signature is very nicely chiseled!

lThere is a made date engraved on the back of the Nakago tang, which is called \"Ura-nenki\" and is regarded to increase the value of the sword by many collectors!

lThe blade is just polished and is in excellent condition!

lThe blade is very well forged and has wonderful \"Nashi-ji\" forging grains!

lThe Hamon temper lines on the blade are beautiful Suguha with auras!

lThe condition of the Shirasaya fitting is just like mint!

lMei signature on Nakago tang:

(front) 備前國長船住横山祐包 (reads \"Bizen-koku Osafune ju Yokoyama Sukekane\" and means \"Yokoyama Sukekane of Bizen-koku Osafune\")

(back) 嘉永七年八月日 (August of Kaei Era Year 7 or 1854)

lSheath Writing Attestation, called \"Saya-gaki\" in Japanese was done by Dr. Sato Kanzan (佐藤寒山, 1907-1978), who was a leading Japanese sword scholar. His signature in the attestation is 寒山誌 (reads \"Kanzan shi\" and means \"Kanzan wrote\"), and his seal stamp, called \"Kao\" (花押) in Japanese after the signature. The writing provides that this attestation was done in autumn of 1974. Very precious!

CONDITION:

The blade is in full polish and is in excellent condition with one shallow Kitae-kizu on Shinogi-ji of around the middle of the blade, which is not fatal. The Shirasaya fitting is in very good conditionwith minor wears. Sold as-is.

Shipping & Handling

lWe use EMS of Japan Post for shipping, which is expedited method and comes with insurance and tracking services (note: Tracking service is not provided for some areas if the local post office in your area does not provide the service.).

lPlease note, however, that EMS cannot be used for sword for shipment to some areas. In such a case, we will try to use a surface mail instead, which usually takes a few months to arrive. Related charges for shipping, insurance, and handling will be notified to the buyer. If the surface mail is not feasible for some reasons, such as no insurance coverage, then the order would need to be cancelled.
