This is a large lovely Japanese Kutani Satsuma Moriage vase. This is a porcelain vase with enamel overlay which has been hand painted. This vintage vase displays colorful polychrome enamel and the body is round the handles have a unique dragon or elephant creature formation. This vase has two different scenes on 2 sides. It is an elaborate piece with men who appear to be persons of high importance. The vase has a marking on it which looks like part of the marking was in the shape of an A and also a gold Q. I believe this to be Nippon but I am not an expert on this piece. The vase measures 18 1/2\" tall x 11\" from handle to handle. This is considered kutani satsuma moriage style. It is a beautiful piece of art. It is in very good condition with some crazing on the bottom of the vase only. I see no chips or cracks.
