This sale is for an original circa 1840s-1850s American primitive pastel portrait of a young woman in its original period frame. This charming portrait was purchased by my mother at an estate sale in Columbus, Ohio over 30 years ago and has been appreciated by my family since then. I don\'t remember exactly what she paid for it, but I know it was expensive at the time. It measures a large size, approximately 2\'4\"x2\'10\", and has vibrant colors. There looks to be a bit of repair to the left of the subject\'s head, and another on her hand, and a little of the pastel has come off on the glass, but it still presents extremely well as-is. Although I love this old painting, it\'s been tucked away in my storage for many years and I now believe it\'s time for it to find a new home.
