This is a lovely large painting by Wilhelm deuschle-höllwarth, German artist from around 1900. You can see he was influenced by impressionistic painters, this is a lovely rendering of rustic buildings in a mountain landscape. It is painted on wood/plywood as these were materials he could readily find and appropriate for his artwork, unfortunately I see 2 areas on the painting where knots from the wood underneath are telegraphing up through the heavy paint and causing cracking. The painting and frame measures about 3 feet by 2 feet 9 inches or a little under 1 meter wide, and maybe 90 cm tall. It is truly lovely. I purchased this from a gentleman who\'s great grandparents came over to the U.S. from Bavaria and brought this painting with them.

On the back the German stamp says \'original oil painting by W. Deuschle-höllwarth\'. The frame is lovely and ornate with some scratches and scrapes, and the plywood board he painted on has one corner that is a little bent, see photo. Overall an amazing lovely rendering.
