LARGE GREEN VINTAGE MURANO OR VENETIAN LATTICINO OIL LAMP:

Thislisting is for a very large, vintage, green, Murano latticino oil lamp. I think the pictures shouldgive you a better idea of the colors and design than my description. It has beautiful green stripes with alternating green latticino ribbons against a frosted white background. The base is milk white. It standsabout 21.5\" high without the chimney included - just under 26\" with -and the top globe is about 7\" wide. The mid section is approximately 6\" wide. Attributed to Murano, Italy.

Conditionis good. There is one small hairline crack in the metal fixture that secures the mid section to the milk white base; see close up picture. The glass has a dull matte finish from the HF acidwash. Vintage Murano latticino pieces may include minor streaking/spots, air bubbles, etc., or othersmall imperfections that were created during the manufacturing process and/or HF acid wash (that is what creates the beautiful dull matte finish).

The metal burner is a little out of whack in that it allows the top globe to rest on top of the wick adjustment knob; see picture. I think it could probably be tweaked/bent or adjusted, but it may also require a new burner to accomplish that. It never bothered me the way it is now, and I am selling it as is.

This is a resale because the dim-witted clods at the USPS thoughtfully broke it last time I shipped it. Apparently double boxing is not enough to keep parcels safe anymore. Fortunately no glass was broken, but the milk white base and metal fitting was separated from the mid section due to the rough handling. I have recently re-attached it with epoxy and now it is probably secured better than it was before. That is when I discovered the tiny hair line crack in the metal fitting that attaches the mid section to the base. I elected to leave the metal fitting on it because it because the crack doesn\'t show very bad, and I preferred the patina on the metal fittings of the lamp.

I will not take any chances shipping this lamp. It will be over packed, double boxed (possibly shipping in two different boxes) and I will not scrimp on packing material! If I can safely ship it cheaper (due to a closer zip code, etc.) I will be glad to adjust the shipping cost after the sale ends.
