Listed for your consideration is a vintage or antique figure of a stork. The whimsical bird stands 9\" high x 5\" long x 2-1/2\" wide and makes an attractive presentation!
This is a handmade item, crafted of spun cotton (batting), cotton cloth and paper mache, over a wire skeleton. Once formed and dry, the wing tips and eye details were painted on. The eyes themselves are plastic cabochons. The orange beak is painted wood. The legs and feet are twisted, red wire. It\'s a fun size, large enough to be a rather distinctive figurine or centerpiece. It stands impressively in its\' own right, just as the beautiful bird it is!
This item has been stored away in my parents\' collection of sale and estate finds since the 1960s. It dates to the 1940s-1950s, or possibly earlier and came from Germany. Would be great at a baby shower, in a Florida room, or even in an obstetrician\'s office!
CONDITION: VERY GOOD condition, but has some light surface soil and usual, light wear. No damage. Please look the pictures over. I\'ve tried to capture the beauty and size of this charming bird. No odors. Non-smoking Environment.
