This is an estate find. This brooch measures approximately 3 1/4" long, 1 3/4" wide, roughly 1 1/2" high. The amethyst stone measures approximately 2" x 1 3/4", and 1 1/4" high. The brooch weighs in at an astounding 86 grams, most of which is amethyst. It is signed IRADJ MOINI. The amethyst is clean, no chips nips or cracks. It is highly carved. The colors range from a medium purple to a purple/pink. It is a beautiful stone. The rhinestones are all prong set. There are over 65 of them in red and clear crystal, all clean with excellent brilliancy. No chips or cracks. The gold plating is in excellent condition, all shiny and clean with the exception of one small spot that is discolored. There is no loss to any of the plating.
This pin was designed with two long needle clasps, I would assume because of the weight. One has a safety C clasp, the other, just a C clasp. The needle has broken off the safety clasp and is missing. The other needle is present, with a slight bend and slight loss of gold plating. It can be worn as it is now, but would be more secure after the missing needle is replaced. Although I believe it is an easy repair, I decided not to take it to a jeweler to have it repaired. I will leave it to the discretion of the winning buyer.
