Here is ablack dress from the30s.This is made fromablack silk rayon crepe, very light weight and airy.This features 2 swirledgray and black 1 1⁄8\" celluloid buttons on the front, a collar that is thinner in the back and wider in the front ending in a tuxedo style in the front,dolman sleeves, a somewhat droppedwaist, gathersabove the waistfront and back and below collar in back,a bias cut on the skirt that adds to the drape, and the back of skirt tapers by 3\" more than the front. There is ametal zipperin theside for closure; the zipper pull reads Conmar.There are both belt loops; however, no belt. The belt shown is only to show how dress will look with one. The hem has been let out on the skirt and some threads were left in place inside. Thetag is very old. It has horizontalseams across the back to giveit more strength. There is a 3 handwritten near the top, the number 6371,and Model, Size,Etc.but the rest of the information has faded over the years. From the measurementstaken, this should fita size LARGE comfortably. Measurements listed below.

Thereare someminor issues: there are some pulled seams and some small seam openings at some pressure points,some loose threads inside, a few random pulls to fabric, and 3 small holes about 3\" up from hem on side of dress. Otherwise, the dress is inVery GoodCondition and the color has stayed a true black.

MEASUREMENTS:

Bust: (armpit-armpit) 46\"

Waist: 35\"

Hips: Free

Sleeves: (guesstimating with no shoulder seams) 7\"

Shoulders: (guesstimating with no shoulder seams) 14\"

Length: (bottom of back collar to bottom hem) 53\"

(Measurements are taken flat with dress zipped, buttonedand then doubled at bust, waist, & hips).

Dress ismid calfon the mannequin, she is 5\' 10\" tall, bust: 34\", waist: 29\", hips: 34\"

If you have any concernsif the dress will fit, then my best advice is to take a comparable dress that you know fits you well then lay dress flat with front side up and either buttoned or zipped. Then measure underarm to underarm for the bust, approximately 3-4\" down from underarms measure across for waist, then about 4-5 inches down from that area, measure across for the hips. Then double those measurements for your size. Then turn dress over to the back, still zipped or buttoned & measure at the top, from one shoulder seam to the other, these are not doubled. Measure sleeves from top seam to sleeve hem on the outside. Then measure from the bottom seam of collar in the middle to bottom hem of dress for the length. Then you can compare your measurements to the measurements of the dress listed. You should allow yourself at least an inch more for acomfortable fit.
