LIONEL #52440U. S. MARINE CORPS FLATCAR WITH TRAILER

Offered for sale is an uncataloged and very attractive Lionel #52440 United States Marine Corps Flatcar with a Truck and a Trailer which was produced in 2007 for the St Louis Lionel Railroad Club. It was a limited production item and reportedly only 600 of these units were made. It is in Mint/Brand New condition: all original, unused and unblemished. The condition of this uncommon flatcar is based on appearance only, and I did not test it for operating performance. The flatcar carries a sharp-looking U. S. Marine Corps Trailer, which can be attached to and pulled by a die-cast U.S.M.C. Diesel Truck. All three of the black units have very realistic U. S. Marine Corps decorations and markings. The flatcar has a black 6424-11 frame, with gold U.S.M.C. lettering and numbering on the side rails. This flatcar comes with die-cast sprung metal trucks, two operating couplers and with a black brake wheel. And, it also comes with a nice, clean and complete, original Lionel window box. The limited production #52440 United States Marine Corps Flatcar with a Truck and a Trailer is not an easy item to find, and it would certainly be a very welcome addition to any military collection or operating layout.
