Igor Vasilevich Panich was born 1919 inIvanivka, Poltava region, Ukraine. He is participant in WWII, after which hestudied at the Kharkov Art Institute until 1950. Panich lived and worked inVoroshilovgrad/Lugansk, Ukraine, specializing in thematic paintings. He was amember of the Ukrainian Union of Artists since 1958. Igor Vasilevichparticipated in numerous exhibitions of Eastern-Ukrainian Painters,All-Ukrainian, and All-Union art exhibitions. Important shows include All-UnionArt Exhibition, Moscow, 1951. Panich became a Merited Artist of the Ukraine in1972. His works are in museums of Ukraine and private collections worldwide. The artist islistedin the Dictionaryof Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Artists 1900-1980s by the MatthewCullerne Bown, p. 233.
