This is the 1939 first printing (Enlarged Picture Edition) of Little Black Sambo by Helen Bannerman.

Features color drawings by Cobb X Shinn throughout the book.

Hardcover book. Boards are blue cloth with red lettering and borders, and color illustration on the front board.

Boards and binding show mild shelf wear. Pages have some small tears and the book has been stamped in four places with the name of the school library it resided in for many years. The title page has a handwritten note exposing who donated it to the library. The inside back cover has a library pocket and card showing dates it was borrowed. (The listing photos are an honest representation of the book’s condition).

Dust jacket is included as well.

This is a very rare edition. Copies in similar condition can be found online for $500.
