This listing is for one lot of100random vintage solid brass metal letterpress print type mats*mixed font/size block letters andnumbers likepictured(may not be a complete alphabet or number set, random100 selected). These print typeblocksare loose(not fixed in place) andthe letter/number faces measure from approx. 1/4\" to 3/4\"tall(majority are1/4\" tall) - the last photo contains approx.3 lots. These blocks are straight out of an old print shop and date back to the 1920\'s - used in hot foil stamping typography. They are in as found condition with normal wear from age but overall are in good shape.This print type is great for décor, arts & crafts, photography, etc. (especially since the letters/number are all facing the correct direction as apposed to normal letterpress which is reverse) - a great start or addition to any collection. Thus the composing process resembles that used in cold lead type printing. Once a line has been completed, the composing stick is inserted into the Ludlow machine, which clamps it firmly in place above the mold.
