LOUIS WAIN. 1ST EDITION 1ST ISSUE. LOUIS WAIN\'S GREAT BIG MIDGET BOOK by Louis Wain assisted by Claire Wain. London Dean circa 1934. 4 ¼” x 4 ½”. Original beautiful illustrated boards, 315 pages plus + 2 pages of ads. Illustrated throughout with very many full page black & white drawings all by Louis Wain, in the same format of Big Little Books. Done with the assistance of his sister while he was a patient in the Napsbury psychiatric hospital, this was Louis Wain\'s final book published in his lifetime. Due to the fragile binding and paper quality, this book is rarely found in this condition. All in all a very nice copy, some rubbing, corners still quite sharp, front hinge has an inch crack at the foot. Inside hinges a little soft, text block tight, some nice age toning. A notoriously fragile book and very rare to find in this condition, a must for any collector of Louis Wain.
