This is a lovely French porcelain trinket box in Canary yellow colour with gilt embossed rococo decoration all round along with white enamel scallop and dot decoration. On the lid is a hand painted scene of a lyre harp surrounded by flowers.
Pull up the decorative brass mounted hinged lid, and inside are beautiful flowers on white background.
There is a pottery mark on the base, painted in blue of a crown above two L\'s, and inside are the letters CJ.
The shape of this trinket box is similar to the small pill boxes also made in France and very popular in the 19th / 20th century.
It measures approx just under 6. 1/2 inches in length, width is 4. 3/4 inches, height is almost 3 inches.
In very nice condition with minimal age and use wear.
