Wonderful Antique Horsman Doll! LARGE!
-- Purchased at doll collector estate sale.
-- Large! About 26 inches tall…..notcounting bonnet.
-- Marked on back of head \"E.I.H. CO. INC.\" Edward Imeson Horsman(E. I. Horsman) opened a toy company in New York, NY in 1865 and became a leader in the toy industry. His 18thcentury and early 19th century dolls are very nice collectables.
-- Head has a few marks/smudges, wig clearly show much play-time/wear, hard to spot, but faintverticalcrack (~.75 inch) above right eye. Harder to spot but some cracks both ear areas. Judging by the age the head should be composition, but it has somewhatof an old plastic texture. Thecracks inthe ear areas moreconsistentwith composition. Arms & legs have crazing/ smudges/marks, and cracking…particularly upper right arm and both legs. Some composition missing lower right leg…lower legs show where repairs, repainting, etc. was attempted. Cloth body soiled/some marks. Sleep eyes work…left eye stays open a bit. Squeaker silent.
-- Outfit may be original…soiled…some stains…some holes. Shoes & socks used…and not original.
-- This lovely lass is looking for a safe harbor and some TLC. She and her clothes sold as is.
