You are viewing an impressive piece of Chinese cloisonne art work in the form of a lidded vase or urn. This beautiful vase measures nearly 14 inches tall and approximately 7 inches wide. It is a solid piece of work weighing 3 pounds and 8 ounces.The cloisonne artist was quite talented and has created a theme of two highly detailed Imperial dragons, yellow in color with a dramatic head and face and a contrasting royal blue cloisonne work outlining its body. In the center of the dragons is a flaming pearl or fireball. Beneath the fire ball appears to be jagged mountain peaks, followed by green designs and ending in turquoise, both of which may represent the elements of earth and water. The lid and the entire interior of the the vase are covered in a beautiful turquoise enamel, making the inside a finished look!This cloisonne is special not only because of the fine quality of workmanship but it is in excellent condition. Exact age in uncertain, however this level of work and quality is typical of the early 1900s.Condition is excellent with only minor wear or slight loss of enamel. (Please see photos) There are no dents or other damage, just enamel wear from age. (some enamel loss appears as tiny white specks or pin holes mostly only noticeable upon close inspection.)This piece is a fine example of Chinese Cloisonne art which has been truly cared for and gently handled over the decades!
