This wonderful 6 1/2\" x 8 1/2\" tintype photograph depicts a large group of people that look like they have been celebrating July 4th! Look closely at their faces, all the woman are smiling! Seldom do you see anyone smile in these early tintypes!

The condition is good for its age. Ithas written \"JP GoodwinJuly 4th 1878\" along the right edge andfive setsofinitialsalong the bottom (I\'m assuming they are the initials of the people photographed). Above the woman\'s head, on the far right side, is what looks like a spider web type crackling and the upper left side has soiling.

I am including the original 10 1/2\" x 12 1/2\" oak frame that came with this but it has no glass. It also needs a new matt but I will include the originalsoiledone that came with this.
