This is an elegant dress clip but that\'s purely my opinion because I am in love with dress clips. Many people do not know the difference between dress clips and fur pins. Dressclips have a flat back as a closure so the piecerather folds over the fabric being worn. A fur clip is very different in that it has sharp prongs on the back of it so it is enabled to pierce a thickcoat or fur skin. This dress clip measures about 1.5 inches on each side. This clip is triangular in shape and has bezel-set, faceted amethysts indifferent shapes. The central piece is oval and it issurrounded by six smalleramethysts--three are square and three are pear-shaped. It has just the slightest touches that make it unique such as two of the three small amethysts are in the same direction but the third will go in a different direction. On the corner of the triangle there is a beaded flower. The gilded brass-work is dimensional giving it a regal look. The flat clip onthe back is patterned. The large central amethyst is open-backed so when the light catches it against the clip, it casts a beautiful color into the stone.
