This is an early 20th century bronze sculpture (circa 1930s) of a man in profile. This striking depiction features a classic profile looking resolute and focused. The very well done casting features a beautiful verdigris patina. There is, as well, contrasting textures between the smoother surface on the face and shoulders with the rough texture of the hair and the background. The artist’s inscription and bronze stamp can be found on the reverse. The work is surmounted on a black marble rectangular plinth with white veining. The overall condition is very good. There a few very minor areas of spotting on the back left shoulder and the plinth shows some minor losses to one of the edges.
The work measures 16” (43 cm) in length, 11” (28 cm) in height and 7” (18”) wide. The plinth measures 18” (46cm) in length, 6.2” (5cm) in height, 6” (15.5cm) wide.
