Pics tell the story on this classic Navajo Rug which exhibits strong similarities to the brown and white rug found in Plate IV of the J. B. Moore Crystal Trading Post 1903-1911 patterns. The last pic shows that Plate as found in the catalogue which depicts the all-over patterning of crosses and serrated designs.
These Plates were used as general guidelines rather than pure blueprints to copy, so much was left for interpretation from the Navajo weavers.
