Up for sale is this very impressive antique inkwell.It is in the form of a whale being dragged by 2 sailors.It is made of solid bronze.This incredible piece has amazing details.Part of the whale opens up to reveal a double inkwell.I see no markings at all on this piece.It was recently found in a high end estate.The piece is generally in good condition.One of the sailors has a small repair where he attaches to the whale.Please see photos.It looks like someone soldered a piece on to hold hid foot to the whale with a screw.This is not a solid repair and can easily come loose.It really needs to be fixed properly.The screw holds tight and is not striped/etc.The problem is with the little added piece.The sailors leg is not broken either.It also looks like he may have had a tiny smoking pipe at one point.Now gone.Otherwise in good shape.Sold as is, as found in the estate.This great piece measures approx.10\" x 3\" x 5 1/4\" tall at it\'s largest.
