Shortly after Ringo joined the Beatles, Brian Epstein (their manager) wanted the Beatles to improve their image by playing in more respectable venues. He booked them to play at the Birkenhead YMCA on the 8th of September,1962. This was one of the first Beatles concert with the new drummer. This piece - Approximately 5 1/4\" x 3 1/2\" x 3/4\" - was removed from a section of the actual stage the Beatles played on. It was recovered during a restoration project and issued as part of a fund raiser by the Birkenhead YMCA. A copy of their COA is included. On the back of the certificate, is a copy of the advertisement for the event which was taken from the Birkenhead News microfilm archives.
