Large Vintage Chinese Embroidered Silk Textile Panel w/ Birds and Squirrels:

Up for sale is a large 53 X 76 inch silk textile panel. This item came from an estate of an officer in the U.S. Army, a WW II veteran who was stationed in China during the war ( 1944 - 1946 ). Many items from this time period were brought home as souveniers. I am not 100 % sure but I believe this panel to be hand stitched. I have shown some photos of the reverse side so you can make the determination yourself. Either way it is very well executed example of the fine detail in this piece. Take a close look at the still vibrant colors of the ducks,squirrels, fruit and flowers, they almost look real.. Unfortunately there is some heavy staining and some large holes. It is also wrinkled from many years of storage. There is no border so I am not sure what this was intended to be used for, maybe a tapestry or a garment of some type. I am no expert in these type of items so I am doing the best I can to give an accurate description with a little bit of research on my own. This will be sold as is. Please look at photos.
