Daddy\'s little girl has been sadly selling her late father\'s pipe collection. A portion of the remainder of his pipe sales will bedonatedto the different organizations helping those affected by the hurricanes. 25% of the sale of this pipe will be donated to Save the Children Federation, Inc. for their support. Due to my responsibilities of clearing my late parent\'s home, I am presently not working, so this contribution will not be a tax deduction. I just wish to help those affected by these disasters.

Please read my descriptions carefully, andreference all images for inspection anddescription verification. I willdo my best to provide answers to questions, and/or provide additional photographs.

This ‘Ismet Bekler’ meerschaum pipe is from myfather’s collection. He began collecting pipes in the 1970s, so he likelypurchased this new from a shop in Old Town, Alexandria. Please excuse myignorance, but daddy didn’t teach me about pipes, so I am dependent upon imagesand information (often from what collector’s share) on the Internet.

This beautiful pipe was hand carvedby the late Ismet Bekler, who passed away in 2005. A skillfully carved horse isattached to the bowl area of the pipe. Its stem is ornately decorated with tworings of flowers. Carved just to the right side of the bowl is the fullsignature “Ismet Bekler” with a dotted ‘i’.

The included original fitted box/case is a blue velvet material.The stem has its own fittedresting area inside of the box. It appears as though it may never have been attached;therefore, I am not attaching it for the photographs. I felt it was best to leaveit in its original condition, and sincerely apologize to anyone who has an objection.Not being knowledgeable with pipes, I do not want to chance any damage.

According to found documentation and personalinspection, the pipe was never smoked. It appears to be in excellent condition.I did not notice any flaws that were not in its making, teeth marks, charring, or Tobacco scent, and theinside of the bowl appears clean. There seems to be what may be considered a small chip on the edge of the hole where the stem is attached, but I believe this occurred in the making of the pipe. Again, please reference all images forconfirmation.

It is my belief that this pipe remained in the box,and never displayed. Quite honestly, I am unable to determine if thepipe requires any cleaning. It is my protocol to not clean pipes, as I amunfamiliar with the cleaning process, and do not want to chance ruining thepipe.

I do not recall finding any additional paperworkfor this pipe. At present, I am working at my family home, so will keep a watchful eye. If anything is found, I will update the listing, and if later found, I will gladly mail it at my expense.

The following information may be of interest to some. We visited the pipe shop where this pipe was likely purchased (99% certain). During conversation with the staff, we learned that back in the day, the owner travelled overseas, and handpicked pipes to bring back to the US. Though, without conversing with the owner, I am uncertain if the pipe was purchased directly from Mr. Bekler. My dad was likely the only owner of this pipe.
