Large Vintage Rolling Stones Flying Geese Nine Patch Antique Medallion Quilt!

This CRISP, STURDY cotton medallion quilt is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted, with fabrics dating from 1870 to 1930. The inner field has rolling stone blocks, surrounded by a flying geese border, then an outer nine patch variation border.

It measures a generous 80\" X 82\" and is in mint, unwashed condition, with a couple of small, faint age spots and no wear.

There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line designs in the background, all at even 6-7 stitches to the inch.

The back and hand stitched binding are the same vintage cheater cloth quilt, and the batting is thin. Whimsical late nineteenth century conversation prints can be found in places.
