VINTAGE WEIL WARE SHELF SITTER WALL POCKET

Large and fun mid-century modern hand painted potter shelf sitter measuring about 10\" in height and about 6\" wide. Featuring an Asian girl wearing large woven hat and frog closure tunic and pants, she sits flanked by two decorated pots - her legs dangle over the shelf front. Designed to wall mount, this was referred to as a shelf sitter - I\'ve seen it used for flowers and even matches. Marked simply 4046, this is a Weil Ware California Art Pottery piece. Condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage - typical fine crazing to the clear glaze does not detract. Just a charming piece of mid-century pottery - retro and fun, it would be a neat addition to any home, collection or display!
