Large Wall Plaques Chalkware Plaster African Dancer and Drummer :

These two tall large wall plaques are very heavy and may be chalkware or plaster. I do not see any marks indicating Universal Statuary.The black paint has faded and discolored from age. There is white plaster showing thru on the lip of the man drummer. Does not feel like a chip. May be a flake of paint missing. Otherwise they are in really nice condition. No damage noted. Just the discoloration in the black paint.It looks like the black paint has run into the white area, but this and the fading does not really detract from thebeauty of these statues. When they are hanging, you really do not notice these flaws. They are quite unique for their size. They are approx 23 1/4\" Tall. The lady is about 13 1/2\" across from arm to arm, the man is about 14\". They weigh each 10 1/2 Lbs. Thru research I would date them 1950-1960\'s. This set is being sold as I found them \"As Is\".
