This is a traditional sword with a sanmai structure, clay tempered. Highly recommended! The blade is forged by two different materials, 1095 high carbon steel and Damascus steel. 1095 steel is wrapped by Damascus steel as a core. After sharpening, 1095 carbon steel is exposed to work as the cutting edge. The outer Damascus steel layer is forged 14 times before it was forged together with 1095 steel. The blade went through very traditional clay tempered process, so besides Damascus pattern there is a very special clay hamon on it.The blade is full tang with hand engraved Mei(signature). It\'s full functional and battle ready.

The sword is equipped with common hard wood saya, silk sageo/ito, alloy tsuba set and genuine same(rayskin). It is a very good choice for the following use: Cutting practice, sword training, display, valuable art collection. It is very strong for all kind of cutting, such as cutting tameshigiri, bamboos, bones and iron things(wire and can) and so on.
