An impressive monumental Sterling silver figural Gravy or Sauce boat bears the hallmark of Lewis E Jenks of Boston! Measuring 9 inches in length by 7 1/2 in height, this allover floral repousse footed sauceboat bears an aesthetic style beaded and scrolled handle with a figural Greek Maiden finial. In overall near mint condition, the underside of the foot shows evidence of an old, professional repair. The stem above the foot shows just the slightest sign of having dents hammered out. Also, handle bears a couple tiny dings. cartouche below spout is engraved EEG(?) Jan 1876. Boston stamp below Lewis Jenks hallmark suggests a slightly earlier date, maybe early 1870s.
