Limoges Romantic Theme, Polychrome Miniature Tray, produced circa 1950\'s+ in France. The romantic theme shows a gentleman serenading a lady and is a rendition of a painting by the famous artist, Fragonard. One of a series of four paintings the artist produced for Madam DuBarry, the last mistress of Louis XV. Supposedly, Madam DuBarry refused the last two paintings and had Fragonard removed from the court. The polychrome transfer design is highlighted with hand applied white enameling.Measures 3-1/4\" in diameter.
