LLADRO \"GOING FISHING\" #4809 FIGURINE

Up for sale is a collectibleporcelain figurinemade byLladro in Valencia, Spain. It\'s titled \"Nino Pascador\" (#01004809), whichtranslates to\"Going Fishing\".Thisfigurine was designedby sculptor Salvador Furió. It wasintroduced in 1972 and retired in 2001. It last retailed for $160. The figurine depictsa young boy in hip waders with a fish creel over his shoulder. He is holding a plastic fishing pole, which is removable and can be displayed several different ways.This figurine stands about 8 1/2\"tall and measures approximately 3 1/4\" wide. It has a glossy glaze finish. The underside of the base has the Lladro mark without the copyright date, used between 1977 and 1984. There are also several impressed markings. I do NOT have the original box. I purchased this Lladro figurine at a recent estate sale. It\'s guaranteed to be an original Lladro figurine and not a modern look-alike. Juan, Jose, and Vicente Lladro created their own formula for porcelain paste and refined the production process. After studying at the Valencia School of Arts & Crafts, they started producing figurines in a backyard kiln and are now famous for creating some of the best porcelain in the world. Their style is unmistakable and their figurines are prized by collectors worldwide.

Condition of this Lladro\"Going Fishing\"figurine is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The underside of the base has some indentations along the rim (visible in photos) that appear to be original to production. Overall, this collectible figurine looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would make a wonderful addition to any Lladro collection or a great gift for your favorite fisherman.
