This pendant locket has all the elements of a great gem. It is so hard to find these eminently wearable Victorian jewels of this quality! This is a very rare and special piece. The gorgeous early Victorian locket has the most wonderful design. It is so rare to find these in 18K gold and with beautiful seed pearls and these gems are just gorgeous! The locket opens to reveal a place for two photos with beautiful pale green silk backing. The glass inserts are intact.

The style of this piece is the very best and hanging from a chain around the neck or on a bracelet it would be divine! The locket is solid 18K gold with beautiful engraving on both sides. The shield center on the back has not been engraved and could be engraved with initials if desired. I just love this jewel!!! It is so perfect, so romantic, so highly collectible, so wearable!!!! The combination of the stunning gold and pearls is the epitome of femininity and elegance!

The pendant locket dates to the Victorian period c1860-1880. The design is clearly the work of a master craftsman. It is so rare to find these jewels and I just love this one!!

The locket is in excellent condition. The pearls are in wonderful condition. The gold is in excellent condition. It closes tightly and securely. The bale has hallmarks which I cannot make out. The shield form of the locket is 19 mm by 13mm. Including the bales it is 26 mm long. It is 18K gold. The locket weighs 6.0 grams.
