MARYGREGORY, AMERICAN: (1856–1908)was known for her decoration of glass productsat the Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., Boston, Mass. from 1880 to 1884.

She was well known for herpaintings of Victorian Era Children with white enamel paintingusually of a child in an outdoor setting, playing with such things as butterflynets, bubbles, fishing rods, or hoops where the enamel is fired onto the glassin a raised fashion.

The \"Mary Gregory\" Style continued after her tenure at theBoston and Sandwich glass factory.Westmoreland began marketing their Glasswork asMary Gregoryin the 1920s whileother Glassworks like Fenton also produce It measures about 5-1/2\" high and 2-1/2\" across the rim.It is in very good antique condition -- nice clear design of a Victorian Girl in a Garden -- no chips or cracks -- a little minor roughness on the rim -- not major -- one protruding bubble shown -- one dark spot at the top of the rim that is actually a small spot of miss-placed gold on the inside of the rim that shows up dark when seen from the outside -- we did not try to remove it -- a very nice wine are always offering many nice collectible items.
