Lot of 3 Scottish heritage items:
1) Hardback book - \'Robert Bain\'s Clans & Tartans of Scotland\'. Published 1968 by Williams Collins Sons & Co., Ltd. 320 pages. Includes color photos of clan, family and regimental tartans. The inside of the front cover has a clan and family map of North Scotland, the back inside cover has a clan and family map of South Scotland. Chapters cover Scottish clans, dress of the highlanders, types of tartans, clan and family names, personal names in English and Gaelic and outstanding dates in Scottish and clan history. The book also has glossaries of Scottish place names and heraldic terms.
Book is clean except for one pencil written notation on the first page (erasable). Otherwise, no torn, loose, missing, dogeared or marked pages. Book cover and binding are in great condition. Book jacket has some minor wear, but no tears.
2) Hardback book, \'Scottish Chiefs\' by Miss Jane Porter. Undated. Published by Belford, Clarke & Co., Chicago. 676 pages. A novel with historical Scottish figures and places mixed with tradition. Book has cover wear. Some pages have pulled away from the binding, but are not completely loose. There is penciled handwriting on the first blank page and on reverse side above the illustration. Pages are yellowed and have discoloration spots, but are not brittle.
3) Clan Map of the Scottish Highlands. Bought as a souvenir in Scotland in the 1960\'s. Shows clan tartans, chiefs\' coats of arms and illustrations of highland ancient and modern dress. Made by W. & A.K. Johnson & G.W. Bacon, Ltd. Excellent condition.Thank you for looking.
