Lot of 7 Vintage BILL WATTERSON Kodachrome Postcards for MARK TWAIN JOURNAL:
$49.94

Buyer receives: Lot of 7 Vintage BILL WATTERSON Kodachrome (Chrome) Postcards produced for the Mark Twain Journal. Includes the first published appearance of Calvin from Bill Watteron\'s comic \"Calvin and Hobbes.\" The original Calvin had a mop-top cut that covered his eyes, but Lee Salem suggested Bill “chop it down to the spiky, ruffled style that became one of Calvin’s many hallmarks.” This art was freelance work commissioned by Dr. Thomas A. Tenney, the Editor of The Mark Twain Journal. After the Editor\'s passing in 2012, the original art was never found.
A total of eight cards were produced for the Journal (six in 1983, one in 1985, and one in 1986). This is the only collection with 7 of the 8 available on the internet. The edges on each card are clean with the paper color running white to off-white. Overall condition runs from VERY FINE to NEAR MINT. Five of the cards measure 3.5\"x5.5\", two of the cards measure 3.5\"x6\". The cards are unused and unmarked and have been stored in an envelope in a file cabinet since their acquisition from the journal.
RETURNS ACCEPTED WITHIN 14 DAYS OF RECEIPT. BUYER PAYS INBOUND AND OUTBOUND SHIPPING.
